Acadia National Park Carriage Roads
The Duck Brook Connector Trail is a ¼-mile trail for hotel guests, pedestrians and park visitors hiking or walking bicycles from Route 3 in Bar Harbor to the Duck Brook Road, near a popular entrance to the Acadia National Park carriage road system. The trail can be accessed at the back of the Acadia Inn property and runs along our back lawn.
The trail will take you 2/10 of a mile through the woods, you will then come to the back of the Bar Harbor Motel where you will continue on the trail another 2/10 of a mile. At the end of the trail you will find a narrow paved road. Turn right and go under the stone bridge (Bridge #1). Follow this road exactly 1/4 mile until you see another bridge (Bridge #2) which will be to your right. This bridge will lead you to the Witch Hole Pond portion of the Carriage Road.
To return, just reverse your route. Please be aware that the trail back to the Inn is not marked. Just turn left after going under stone bridge #1.
Once connected to the Witch Hole Carriage Road you can access the carriage roads to Eagle Lake, Jordan Pond and the Visitors Center. You can also access several hiking trails including the Cadillac North Ridge Trail.
